On September 28, 2017 the United States Conference of Mayors and the Partner America Program bestowed Mayor Catherine E. Pugh of Baltimore, Maryland the Small Business Advocate Award for her dedication to the small business Mayor Catherine E. Pugh of Baltimore, Marylandcommunity of her city.

Mayor Pugh has been involved in politics since 1999, serving on the Baltimore City Council until 2004. She then served as the Senate Majority Leader for Maryland before running a successful campaign to become the 50th democratic Mayor of the city of Baltimore.

Mayor Pugh shows an admiration for her community, as well as a necessity to grow and build her city through small business. A business owner herself, Mayor Pugh advocates for the rise of Black entrepreneurs.

In recognition of Mayor Catherine E. Pugh’s focus to building Baltimore through small business, the Partner America Small Business Advocate Award will be presented to her on September 28, 2017 at Cylburn Arboretum 4915 Greenspring Ave. Baltimore, Maryland, 21209.
